Looking for a summer getaway? If you’re planning to spend your summer in Mexico, then you’re in for one blast of a summer. Grab a beach tent and pair of sandals because Mexico has lots of places to offer you.

What comes to your mind when you hear Mexico? Mexico is not only known for its good looking president and delicious cuisine. It is also the land of beautiful beaches and sexy Latinas.

But then again, don’t limit yourself to just the beaches. Today, we will be listing down beautiful places you must visit when you’re in Mexico.

In Baja, the Beaches of La Paz are still a bit of a hidden gem, especially compared to the more popular Baja-destinations like Cabo or Ensenada. If you really want to get away from it all, but don’t want to rough it too much, how about Glamping at Camp Cecil

Since Mexico is known for beaches, we’ll start with beautiful beaches you can visit. First off would be the Tulum. Tulum is located along Mexico’s Caribbean coast.

It features a very beautiful white sand shoreline with crystal blue waters. It is also a very historical site with lots of things to do. Here, you can find a pre-Colombian Mayan walled city overlooking the sea.

In its clifftop, there’s also the Castillo built as a watch tower and the Templo de las Pinturas with its partially restored mural. (Perfect for picture taking and Instagram photos!) The place is also more generally known as the Tulum National Park.

Isla Holbox is another stunning beach destination in Mexico. It is just off the coast near Cancun and your quintessential Mexican/Caribbean island. You’ll find some of the best beaches, year-round warm weather and it is one of the top destinations to snorkel with whale sharks in Mexico.

Another beach you might want to go to would be the Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is a resort city situated on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Also known for being party central, it is famous for its outdoor water activities and nightlife.

Finally, if you want just to relax and unwind get your backpack and beach tentPlaya Del Carmen might be a good place for you. Playa Del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico’s municipality of Solidaridad.

Aside from its caves, underwater caverns, hidden lagoons and blue waters, it is also known for being a fishing village.

Moreover, you can also explore cultural heritage sites such as the Coba Mayan ruins. Or if you want a more modern atmosphere to your vacation, you can try out their hotels and eco theme parks.

Best City in Mexico?

Now if you want to go tour in the cities of Mexico, here are some cities you might want to look into. First off would be of course, Mexico City.

Mexico City

Mexico City is considered to be one of the oldest capital cities in America. It was found and built by the Aztecs as Tenochtitlan.

It boasts of several iconic places historically and architecturally. In the city you can find the Templo Mayor. The said temple is a 13th century temple also built by the Aztecs.

You can also find there the Catedral Metropolitana de México which is a baroque-themed cathedral and a legacy of the Spaniards. Then finally, the Palacio Nacional which houses some of Mexico’s most historic murals by Diego Rivera.

You can find all of these around the Plaza De la Constitucion which is the main square/plaza in Mexico city. It is also known as the Zocalo.

Best Vacation Spots in Mexico - Visit Puebla Mexico

Puebla

Another city you might want to visit would be Puebla. It is also like a miniature version of Mexico City. It is packed with museums, cathedrals and historical centers featuring azulejos. (Don’t forget to take a picture of the Popocatepetl volcano!)

However, this is also perfect if you want to experience really good Mexican food with hints of other culture such as the Taco Arabe or Arabic Taco.

Or, if you’re feeling extra adventurous you can also try the escamoles. They’re rice-like ant larvae sauteed in butter. 

Tuxtla Gutiérrez

Finally, there’s also the Tuxtla Gutiérrez. It is a city located in Southern Mexico. Like Mexico City, it also has a central square perfect for historical sites and night walks.

If you love coffee, you can try visiting Museo del Café which features displays and exhibits on coffee farming in Chiapas.

And for the music lover in you, you can also go to the Parque de la Marimba which houses different marimba concerts and the Museo de la Marimba. The Museo de la Marimba might answer every question you have for marimbas!

Is Mexico Dangerous?

Do not let rumors scare you off from visiting a beautiful place like Mexico. There are lots of cheap and safe places you can try visiting in Mexico.

Do note that aside from those that we mentioned, there are still tons of other places you can try going to. Places which will definitely feed the adventurous in you and entertain you.

Mexico is jam packed with different places and activities that will suit your tastes and it is hard to settle on the best vacation spots in Mexico. From diverse cultural heritage sites and beautiful beaches to modern cities and nightlife.
