Why Study Abroad Video

She talks about her study abroad experience in the US and Korea and how her perception about her own cultural identity changed in each different country. She also talks about Loving Abroad as many people who study abroad meet their significant other during that time and the consequences of starting an international family. But she also asks you, if you made the most of your time abroad. Did you challenge yourself enough and make the most of your opportunities?

She advises study abroad students to do the following three things:

Getting experiences and diving into adventures
Make new friends with different backgrounds
Follow your heart and do what is right for you

Go out there and explore yourself and the world. Be brave enough to embrace the challenge and open your mind to new ideas and influences. Take advantage of this great opportunity to be in a foreign country and a different culture. Instead of using your studies as an excuse to remove yourself from the world, go out and learn through experience. Make local friends and learn about their culture and customs and be an ambassador for your own culture. Studying abroad can be such a valuable experience, but only, if you put in the effort. If you stick with your friends from back home and only speak your native language, you won’t get much out of your experience. Immerse yourself in the culture and challenge your believe system.
